Congratulations on receiving a Pathways for Tomorrow grant! Your institution determined that the project was fundamental to its mission and the Lilly Endowment agreed.

Because of the substantial nature of the work of the project and its importance to your institutional Mission, it is never too early to consider how the goals, ideals, and learnings of the project will be sustained well after the grant has concluded. Sustainability of a grant project (and your school's Mission, for that matter) are never just a question of economics or resources. It is so much more than a question of financial sustainability. For this reason, we will gather in Pittsburgh to explore the concept of Solving for Sustainability for your Pathways grant project, including Non-Degree and Online Degree Programs...and we might learn frameworks and gain an imagination for what it means for the sustainability of your institution's Mission, too.

Goals for the meeting: Intentional time away for your Pathways Team to (1) consider the core WHY of your institution and your Pathways project, (2) consider how the Pathways project best serves the institutional core WHY, and (3) develop practical next steps to addressing areas of sustainability for the work of the project in light of (1) and (2).

The Agenda for this very brief gathering will include some pre-work because we want to hit the ground running! The pre-work will include time for personal reflection and interaction with others who are coming from your school ("School Team"). When we are together in Pittsburgh, we will build off of this pre-work and expand our collective understanding through more School Team time and interaction with Teams from other institutions. Because the actual meeting time in Pittsburgh is less than 24 hours, we will try to pack enough in the pre-work and in-person time so that your Team will have a clear sense of how it can carry the conversation on sustainability forward when you return to the institution.

AGENDA

The Agenda will be followed by both Cohorts.

The Online Degree Cohort meets on April 17 from 8am-8pm. It will start with breakfast and end after dinner.

The Non-Degree Cohort meets on April 18 from 8am-8pm. It will start with breakfast and end after dinner.

Please note that there is pre-work ("Mission, Models, and Money") that is to be completed prior to arrival in Pittsburgh. The concepts of this pre-work will be picked up and continued within our session. The other sections are available for your review but are not considered pre-work, You can review as little or as much as you would like so that you have a sense of what we will be doing during the very full day.

Within each Session, Chris Meinzer, ATS Senior Director & COO will offer some plenary reflections, but most of the time will be designed to allow discussions within and among School Teams.
